About TextBehind^®

Established in 2012, TextBehind^® began connecting family, friends, and children with their incarcerated loved ones by building and implementing a series of affordable and convenient services for consistent communication. We are grateful for the Maryland State Department of Economic Development and several other generous investment partners who helped TextBehind^® to become one of the largest and most respected providers of affordable and consistent communication services nationwide.

Our mission includes the following objectives:

• Eliminate contraband to protect the lives of the correctional officers and the incarcerated individuals.
• Reduce the communication gap by providing family & friends with a convenient, easy-to-use, and affordable method of communication as an alternative to postal mail.
• Ease emotional pain for the loved ones caused by incarceration.
• Become a reliable bridge between educators and incarcerated individuals for their personal growth.
• Promote advancements in security and safety in corrections and other public safety sectors.
• Create re-entry opportunities to help reduce recidivism.

In 2021, despite the challenges caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, TextBehind^® continued to expand nationwide across multiple state departments of corrections and county correctional facilities. We also focused on building partnerships and collaborative relationships in the private sector. The collective effort continues to promote TextBehind^® vision, and with our partners, we continue to connect countless new relationships every day.

Leadership

TextBehind^® is a team of highly experienced and talented individuals who are compassionate about public safety, family values and social advancements. We are also supported by a group of advisors, industry partners, and directors who understand how important consistent communication is.

Therefore, leading a team of such contributors is a privilege.

Mr. Zia Rana

President & CEO, TextBehind, Inc

As the co-founder, Mr. Rana has been serving in this capacity and is responsible for technological innovations, brand development, and client relations. Formerly, he worked with the UNHCR (The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), the U.S. Pentagon and global conglomerates to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to lead a socially and historically critical project such as TextBehind. His accolades include a long list of successful global corporations and multiple awards globally.

In his personal capacity, Mr. Rana carries a passion for philanthropy, foster care, design and mountaineering.
